Learn to be Funny
Knowing how to be funny is not something we are all born with. It takes a certain social awareness and knack for timing that we don’t all necessarily understand without a little help.
However, it is possible to learn to be funny. Great comedians become great by practicing and by observing other funny people. There are many ways to learn how to be witty, including watching movies, reading books and learning from real life friends who are always the center of attention because of their sense of humor.
A great way to learn to be funny is to emulate those around you who are successful doing it. Another way is to research and learn from authors who have taken the time to write down tested strategies. And don’t worry, you’re not the only person who had to learn how to be funny—it’s not an innate skill. In fact, if you know how to be funny without having “learned,” it, you probably aren’t all that funny; good humor takes cues from its social environment and culture, cues you have to pick up on through observation and at least informal study. Fortunately, you can learn to be funny.
Good luck!
